In India, the field of arts is one of the traditional and most popular streams, which open up a plethora of career prospects. Course Details

Bachelor of Arts (BA) courses- 

BA in Journalism: This is a course for people wishing to pursue a career in journalism. They deal with all kind of issues like that of politics, social issues as well as economic conditions. With this degree, one can join some media group as reporter or sub-editor.
BA in Political Science: This course involves the study of political history and political systems, both at national and international levels. The study involves the issues like poverty, environmental issues, world terrorism, etc and solutions to these problems.
BA in Economics: This is a three year BA degree course opted by Arts students. It is one of the gateways to Indian Administrative Services and students with such background are given higher preference in this field. It is also considered in the private sectors like Banks, finance as well as teachings and business.

The salary of people with such qualifications strongly depends upon the institutes associated with them and the commitment one extends. Many people with this qualification get into teaching career and such people could earn up to 35K rupees per month. People getting into politics and government services can also earn up to 50K rupees per month and many auxiliary privileges.

With a degree in humanities, one can build a career in the following fields - teaching, writing, research, public relations, internal communications, policy research and analysis, program planning, administration, information, and management.
